Alexandra Johnson is a partner and member of Pestalozzi’s Litigation & Arbitration team in Geneva with 25 years of experience in international arbitration and litigation. She focuses on representing clients in international arbitration and complex commercial disputes.

She also frequently advises clients on Swiss contract law and regularly appears before the Swiss Federal Supreme Court in challenge proceedings against arbitral awards, as well as before Swiss courts in enforcement proceedings.

Besides her work as party counsel, Alexandra Johnson sits as arbitrator under various applicable laws and arbitration rules in matters such as international joint venture agreements, long-term gas supply contracts, construction and engineering, distribution and licensing, sale of goods, pharmaceutical, governance, food & beverages, post M&A and sport-related disputes. She is listed on the panel of arbitrators of the main arbitral institutions, including the ICC, AAA/ICDR, CAS, CPR, HKIAC, EDAC and SIAC.

Alexandra Johnson is the Vice-President of the Arbitration Court of the Swiss Arbitration Centre, the Co-Chair of the Swiss Arbitration Association Geneva Local Group and a member of the Academic Council of the Swiss Arbitration Academy. She is also one of the Swiss members of the ICC Commission of Arbitration and ADR and an immediate past Vice Chair of the IBA Arbitration Committee. She holds a J.D. from the University of Neuchâtel (summa cum laude) and an LL.M from Harvard Law School (Fulbright Scholar). She is admitted to the Geneva and New York bars
